Update!

I'll update you on the things that have happened lately. About a week ago, Nick comes home from work and looks like this...
This picture does not do the redness justice! I had just finished reading Twilight again because of my boredom and I couldn't even look at Nick with those red eyes without getting chills! I had never seen anyone with eyes so red. We scheduled him an eye appointment and he had an eye infection. He was told to use antibiotic drops with a steroid in them. A few days later we notice this...
This picture also does not do this rash justice! It was hard, gross, painful and spreading. We took him to urgent care on Sunday because he woke up with a swollen eye and it had spread even further. It looked like he had been puched in the eye! Turns out the anitibiotic/steroid drops gave Nick a secondary infection! My poor hubby! Every summer the stress weakens his immune system and he always gets sick with something! We are hoping that this heels quickly so he can start wearing his contacts again and so he can have fun on friday when we go to the beach!

Right after I planted the basil and put it in my window sill, I started hearing people comment on it as they walked by. I heard little kids call them chocolate cupcakes (before they sprouted) and I heard adults (yes! more than one) call it pot! I kinda got sick of people calling it pot, especially with the missionaries living right next door! So this is what I did...

After I put that out there I didn't hear anymore, "I think it's pot" comments! Anyways, here is what it looks like now (mostly for my mom). I think it's day18 or somewhere close to that.

Well, that's all I can think of to post right now. I'm sure I'll think of something that I forgot after I'm finished! I always do! I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend!

A bunch of random...

This is going to be a long random post. You can't say that I didn't warn you.

The past few weeks have been rather uneventful, which I guess could be a good thing. Nick's been working crazy hours, like most summers, but even more so this year. He leaves most mornings around 8am and then gets home between 10pm and midnight. He generally has enough energy when he gets home to eat, brush his teeth and fall into bed. As for me? I try to sleep as long as possible because then I have less time in the day to fill with the few things I do like working out, laying out, surfing the web, and cleaning (ha! right! only when absolutely necessary). I have made a few friends out here. They are other wives with nothing to do, just like me! We go shopping and swimming, well, mostly hot tubbing lately because of the "June Gloom", and I have taken up card making. Here is a pic of the first one I made. I gave it to Nick. The second one I made for my new niece Morgan. So Kel, you get a sneak peek of the package that I STILL need to send you. :)

Last week my parents sent us a package with a bunch of goodies in it. One of my favorite things inside was a window sill green house with Basil seeds! My Mommy is awesome! I grew my first Basil last summer in Charlotte and I loved it! This year, in our crummy apartments, (a story for next time) I have no balcony for plants and my Mom found the perfect solution. These are some pics for her, but everyone can enjoy.

After 4 days

After 7 days

Anyways, I was super excited!

I made this a few weeks ago for Nick. It's a countdown chain for when we get to go home, except I still need to add a month on the end. :(

After I made it I realized that it might not be such a great idea because when we look at it we think about how much longer we have to stay! Oh well, it took me a whole day. Which is a good thing. Some of the links have a "J" on them, and those days he gets to draw a goody from the Goody Jar! It gives him something positive to look forward to at the end of each day, besides coming home to me!

I have one last thing to blog about today and if you hate bugs, you can skip the pics. :) ONE of the AWFUL things about living in the apartments that we do (not by our choice) is the ant problem we are having. I threw away half of our food when I found them in our pantry! After I threw it away, and Nick cleaned up a little, I remembered to take pics, so I only have a couple.

Well, I think that's it for now. Oh! I can't figure out how to make all of the font on my blog the same size. I'm waiting for Nick to have a sec so he can look at it but, if you have any suggestions for me to try, leave a shout out.

My life consists of...

A lot of this,

A little of this,

And not nearly enough of this.

Tomorrow is the big day!

Tomorrow we move to Anaheim! Right now we are still trying to pack up the last minute things. We decided to drive to Las Vegas tomorrow and stay the night. Nick graduated from UVU (today was his last final EVER!) so we decided to take it easy and relax a little in Vegas. He has worked so hard and deserves a little time to play before his summer gets crazy. Well, I will try to keep you all updated. I'm not sure if or when we will have the internet. If you need a break from Utah, come visit us! I'll see you in 6 months!

Anaheim!

We have a job! We have been so blessed this past week. After Platinum Protection stabbed Nick in the back, Elite Security offered us a job. Nick will be a co-manager this summer in Anaheim, CA. It's a small step backwards from where he was, but there is major potential for advancement in the next year. In fact, he will be better off in the next couple of years than if we stayed with Platinum. We feel so grateful that we have this opportunity when so many people are struggling. This is going to be a good summer for us! Come visit us in the sun and the sand!

Again...Really?

Well, about 2 hours ago we found out that we are no longer moving to St. Louis, MO. Instead we will be spending the summer in Chicago. I should probably be more excited about it than I am but I am just a little stressed about it. We have less than a month before we move and they spring this on us. We lived there a couple years ago and I guess I was looking forward to living somewhere new, not to mention I had my whole summer planned out already. Sorry for the venting...I guess I better get planning.

Anything new?

Nope...not really. There isn't much going on right now for us. Nick is working hard in school, trying to finish everything up. He graduates in April and we are both so excited! We are also getting anxious to move and get the summer going. We leave in about 5 weeks and I am already making lists of things I can't forget this time.
On a different note... I think I am going to go back to school sometime this year. I don't really know what my major will be yet though (just something I can get online probably). Nick was so excited to not have to pay tuition anymore...oh well. :)
Last weekend we went to Logan for spring break. It was nice to get to spend some time with my family, especially Andy. The weather was nice (I got a little sunburned!) and we ate some good food too! My dad is an amazing cook and he has been using his smoker/ BBQ thing and everything comes out so yummy.
We look forward to spending some time with Nick's family this weekend. Hopefully it will warm up some and the snow will go away! I really like the sun!
