I know I had a great week! It started with my birthday on Monday and I got a great surprise!
A new wedding ring! We had some problems with my other one. I absolutely love it! Nick is great with surprises and is so romantic! I just got it back because it had to be re-sized and now it fits perfect!
Onto Thanksgiving...we went to Nick's family's house in Lynndyl. We had lots of fun and got to spend some quality time with them. Hope you had a great thanksgiving!

I just watched the news and there was this piece on blogs. It was scary because they talked with this lady that had people harassing her and her family. This person was making threats against them and stuff. Scary! There was this other lady that posted pictures of her kids and someone was stealing them and putting them on their Nazi website. She called the police and they couldn't do anything to help her! Crazy!
The police gave out some guidelines to follow to make your blog safer (even though they said it can't ever be completely safe.) The first one is to not post your first and last names. The second one is to eliminate all of your personal info, including birthdays and anything else that could be used to find you. Another one is to not post pictures of your kids! Sad, I know. So, I am thinking of going private. Maybe I'll just wait until I have kids. Any thoughts?
We went to my house this weekend and took our new camera with us. Nick used it a lot more than I did. It's become his new hobby. Here are some pictures we took.

This past weekend some friends of ours came over and helped us paint some of our condo. We painted the spare room a tan color and the hallway and bathroom a cream color. The bathroom was an ugly gray color and so dark, and the spare room had a super ugly border that was a pain in the butt to remove. We are going to put up a chair rail or something in the spare room too. Here are some pics.
The other news I have isn't so great. I went to the doctor a few weeks ago and had my blood drawn. I went because Nick and I have been trying to have a baby for almost a year now and haven't been able to. There are a lot of problems that run in my family that make it hard to get pregnant. I got my test results back last week and it turns out that I have polycystic (sp) ovary disease and that I am basically type 2 diabetic. Fun, huh? I am on this awful medicine for 6 months that makes me really sick. I am also on this no sugar and no carb diet. So sad! I love carbs! I don't know if I can live without mashed potatoes and french bread!
My poor husband had his first root canal yesterday. It was so sad(and maybe a little funny) to watch. Here are a few pics from the dentist.

Yesterday Nick got up to watch conference and was sitting on the couch and saw something run by the doorway in the spare bedroom. We've had a few spiders in our apartment since we got back, some of them pretty big, so he thought it must have just been a spider and went to check it out. It was gone.
So last night we had a few friends come over for lunch and the afternoon session of conference. They were here until around ten and were just about to leave when we saw the mouse run by the door again. This time we both saw it and knew it was a mouse. I freaked out a little and Nick stayed sitting on the couch and shut down. He can't do mice. When he was little he was bitten by a mouse and has had a phobia since. So we let James and Clint go look for it. It was gone again, but they found a hole in the corner by the heater, so we knew where it went.
Nick DOES NOT go to the store on Sunday, but he was getting his shoes on getting ready to go buy some traps last night. He hates mice.
We settled down again and a few minutes later saw it by the doorway, so we tried to smack it with a broom. It got away from that and ran into the livingroom where I was holding the dog. I started freaking out and jumping around trying not to step on it, while the dog tried to jump out of my arms to investigate the new addition to our house. Clint and James were laughing at me so much! Nick was still frozen on the couch.
Clint and James caught it and we threw it in the dumpster. We slept much better last night knowing it was not in our house.
Yuck. We hate mice.

Carly hasn't posted anything new for quite a while, so I thought I would. This last week I took pictures of all of my best drawings, one of which being my self portrait. My mom doesn't think it looks anything like me. I think it does...when I'm 30. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.
Nick did this while we were playing at a park on the 4th of july a couple of years ago. I went to visit Nick while he was working in Minneapolis, MN. This was the summer that we were enagaged (the longest summer of my life). Isn't he cute?
This weekend we decided to go on a picnic. There is a park right behind our building so we walked over there. I haven't been on a picnic for such a long time! It was fun to take lunch and go relax in the shade! Moss enjoyed it too!
We got our baby back! It was a super long summer with out Moss! I missed him so much, and so did nick.(We didn't miss the late night potty breaks though). We got Mossy last summer when we were working in Chicago. Here are some pics of my favorite puppy!

I have been thinking about getting my hair cut for a while now. I go through this cycle of cutting my hair then regretting it, and somehow I do this every time. So far this time isn't too much different. I don't like it straightened, only curly. So what do you think?

So, my wonderful hubby just bought an Iphone and I am so jealous! I want one soo bad! Maybe he'll buy me one because he loves me so much (and because he used my upgrade), right babe? He had to get one for one of his classes. What kind of a teacher requires their students to buy an Iphone or Ipod Touch? Do they not know how broke students are?! While we were deciding if we should get one we went to lunch at PF Changs. It was so yummy! The only reason we went there (Nick HATES Chinese food) was because he has a cold and can't taste the food! Sad for him, but I was excited! Well, I think we are headed to redbox for a movie!
Well, I am officially trying to blog! I guess I'll have to catch you guys up on the last little while. This summer we lived in Charlotte, North Carolina for Nick's job. It was pretty stressful but we got through it. We are back home, in Springville, finally! We didn't have much time to play this summer because Nick was working so much. I made Nick take time off once for his birthday and we went to Myrtle Beach! It was about 4 hours south east of us and we had so much fun! We went with two of our friends James and Carl Saunders. We only got to go to a couple places because we were so rushed. We started at the famous Ripley's Aquarium. Nick and I got to touch Sting Rays!
They were so slimmy. We had lots of fun. James and Carl were so funny! They were scared to touch them! We also saw tons of cool fish! I just love tropical fish. They are so pretty. After the aquarium we went to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe. They even gave Nick his own birthday sundae! 
Once we were done with dinner, we walked the board walk along the coast. It was beautiful. The next morning we decided to spend the rest of our time at the beach. It was the first time that James and Carl had ever been to the ocean, and it was our first time seeing the Atlantic ocean! I was surprised how far I could walk out in the ocean. The bottom didn't drop off for a long time! We even saw a shark! It was a little one but it still freaked us all out! After that we all were a little nervous getting back in the water, but that didn't last long!
Nick was sure loving his time off! He is always the funny guy!
We sure had fun and it was sooo nice to get to spend some quality time together! Even though it was a short little getaway, it was well worth it. 
Well, this blogging thing isn't so hard. I think I can get used to this.
